The job of Employment Training Specialist was established for the purpose/s of assisting employees with problem-solving at the job site and maintaining employment.
Essential Functions
- Collaborate with students and clients to problem solve job-related difficulties at the job site for the purpose of eliminating issues and concerns in order to maintain employment and relationships.
- Communicate with students/clients (e.g. expectations and duties;job site rules and procedures) for the purpose of setting clear expectations in order to enusre success.
- Conduct job analyses (e.g. specific skills required to perform the job;tasks, duties and responsibilities) for the purpose of assigning employees with requisite skills and abilities to the proper jobs.
- Facilitate relationships between co-workers, employer, and employee for the purpose of ensuring that positive and supportive communication occurs.
- Maintain on-going logs and performance reports (e.g. strengths, needs, strategies, student performance, and productivity) for the purpose of tracking program success and identifying opportunities to improve or correct process.
- Model appropriate work behavior for the purpose of setting the proper example for students.
- Teach student/client self-evaluation methods for the purpose of ensuring accurate and best practice evaluation methods are utilized.
- Train students/clients (e.g. specific job skills;job safety;appropriate behaviors) for the purpose of ensuring success on the job and preventing injuries.
Minimum requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Training experience in Job Coaching and/or experience with students with disabilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
- Strong organizational skills
- Able to work as a team member
- Flexible with changing schedule (some evenings & weekends) and creative
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
