The job of Head Start Program Family Service Worker was established for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibilities for enlisting parental involvement in students' educational programs; working with parents in identifying and achieving goals; accessing support services; creating training programs; and facilitating positive parent, school and student relationships.
Minimum requirements:
- BA or advanced degree in Social Work, Human Development and Family Services, Psychology, Early Childhood Education or related degree
- Access to reliable transportation
- Six months experience with children and families
- Ability to work with computers
- Able to function independently
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to function in a culturally diverse population
- Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed
